Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Advanced Business Leadership)

There are many business degrees on offer, but few give you the competitive edge you need today. The UWS Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Advanced Business Leadership) is an elite degree aimed at transforming today’s brightest business minds into tomorrow’s business leaders. Throughout the degree you will be mentored and guided by leading business academics and develop superior knowledge and confidence so you can achieve higher degrees of success.

This is a broadly based, multidisciplinary course offering flexibility and choice through a range of 16 different key programs, each of which reflects a particular business discipline. The degree seeks to equip its students with a high level of knowledge relevant to business issues in general as well as knowledge relevant to a specific business discipline.

The intention of the course is to provide a foundation for the development of Australia’s future business leaders.

This course will be offered at the Parramatta campus only. However, students in the advanced BBC who wish to complete a key program that is not available at the Parramatta campus will be given approval to do so.

Duration

3 years full time or equivalent part-time.

Note: 'part-time' refers to study load, not to timetabling of evening classes.

Career Opportunities

This degree will equip students for management traineeships or management consultancy as well as for careers associated with the discipline in which they complete a key program. For further information on the Key Programs, refer to the Bachelor of Business and Commerce.

Assumed Knowledge

Mathematics and any two units of English.

Additional Selection Criteria

This course is made available to high-achieving students only. To be eligible for admission to the B Business and Commerce (Advanced Business Leadership), a student must attain a minimum UAI of 90.

Students must maintain a grade point average of 5 or above to remain in the course. Those who do not maintain this average will be transferred to the Bachelor of Business Commerce.

Dean's Scholarships

Dean's Scholarships valued at $5,000 per annum for up to four years, the fourth year being an Honours year. To be eligible to be considered for a Dean's Scholarship you need to:

  • apply through UAC by the on-time closing date; and
  • have the Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Advanced Business Leadership) course listed as your first preference.

The top students (based on UAI) in each course will be awarded a Dean's Scholarship, and will also be eligible to participate in the Vice-Chancellor's Leadership Program for Students. For more information call the Course Information Centre on 1300 897 669.
