The UWS Nanotechnology Network aims to be a forum to share ideas and expand on knowledge from UWS researchers with industries about nanotechnology and to investigate opportunities for research, development, consultancy and business development. The network meets quarterly to showcase innovative ideas linking University with industry through nanotechnology. This is a model of university, community and regional engagement.
The NMR/MRI & Industry Forum was held at the UWS Campbelltown Campus on Wednesday 5 November 2008. This Forum brought together interested industry representatives and academics to explore and learn about the opportunities for use of NMR/MRI Imaging and Diffusion techniques for research in their industries. Key speakers include Profesor Bill Price, Dr Tim Stait-Gardner and Postdoctoral Fellow Gang Zheng from the Nanoscale Organisation & Dynamics Research Group; Dr Jon Hall, Varian Australia Pty Ltd and Dr Chris Armstrong, Associate Director, NSW Office of Science & Medical Research.
Feedback was positive with industry participants indicating that they are keen to be further involved with the UWS Nanotechnology Network. Most indicated that their expectations were somewhat met or exceeded. All the presentations were seen as excellent or satisfactory, as were the Poster displays, while the Tour of the NMR facility was very well received. Most agreed that they learned more about NMR/MRI and could see what they learnt as being of assistance to their business in the future.

The UWS Nanotechnology Network continues to provide the opportunity to learn about and discuss issues surrounding nanotechnology.
