29/05/2008 The College of Business (CoB) held its first public forum on Wednesday 28 May to highlight the latest corporate scandal that has seen US executives fiddle their bonuses to get a better price at the expense of shareholders.
Professor Michael Adams, Head of the School of Law at UWS, welcomed leading business law expert Professor Cindy Schipani from the University of Michigan who has exposed the loop hole.
Professor Schipani has investigated the practice of paying executives of major US companies bonuses as options - options that only have real value if they are converted to shares. Professor Schipani answered questions from the audience at the end of her presentation.
