Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education

Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education offers student spaces and support services on each campus and offers a range of services and support to guide Indigenous students through their study and to help make their time at the University of Western Sydney enjoyable and enriching.

Badanami is committed to providing Indigenous people with access to higher education and to encourage students, staff and community members to make the most of academic and cultural support facilities. Badanami can put you in touch with a range of services available on campus, from study skills courses, careers advice, counselling and medical assistance all the way through to opportunities to study abroad.

Badanami’s major role is to:

  • administer the Badanami Alternative Entry Program;
  • administer the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme;
  • provide personal and cultural support to all Indigenous students; 
  • provide academic support to all Indigenous students;
  • conduct an Indigenous Student Orientation Program; 
  • advise on enrolment, programs of study, graduation, leave of absence, withdrawal, scholarships and cadetships; 
  • advocate on behalf of students;
  • provide teaching expertise;
  • conduct research and consultancy.
