Cultural Events and Information

Events

At UWS, we recognise the valuable contribution Indigenous Australians make to the community.

The University holds events throughout the year which celebrate the rich culture and history of Indigenous Australians.

This year, National Reconciliation Week was marked with a Sorry Day ceremony at the UWS Bankstown campus, the launch of the Dreaming Festival and the UWS Yarramundi Lecture, a public event in which a prominent Indigenous Australian speaks on issues of significance to Indigenous communities.

NAIDOC Week, with the theme 'Honouring our Elders, Nurturing our Youth' was celebrated in July with a lunch at the Hawkesbury campus.

This year is the UWS Year of Respect and Inclusion, which aims to celebrate the University's central values of inclusiveness and equity of access.
