Training Programs

The Equity and Diversity training and education programs focus on informing staff and students of their equal opportunity rights and responsibilities and the promotion of inclusive practices.

Equity and Diversity staff are also available to develop workshops tailored to meet the specific needs of a work area or attend staff meetings to provide information or presentations. If you require this type of training, please contact Equity and Diversity.

Online Training

EO Online is a self-paced, interactive equity training program designed specifically for higher education employees. It provides information about legislation on equal opportunity, discrimination, harassment and bullying and has links to the relevant UWS policies and procedures. 

The program aims to promote an inclusive work environment and raise awareness of equity and diversity issues in higher education. As an employer UWS has obligation to provide staff with this information and as an employee you need to know and understand laws relevant to your employment. 

The course consists of two modules. All employees are expected to complete Module 1. Managers and supervisors should work through both Module 1 and Module 2.

Training and Education Resources

Equity and Diversity have produced an orientation resource for staff and students. The short PowerPoint Presentation titled 'Respect and Diversity at UWS - A Fair Go for All' covers the topics of discrimination, harassment, vilification and bullying. It is designed for use at lectures and staff meetings for new staff and students and is also useful for refresher education sessions.
