Program details: |
The workshop Promoting Positive Behaviour will highlight recent advances to behaviour management and will preview research-validated practices. The workshop will increase teachers’ awareness of the hazards and pitfalls of punishment and provide guidelines to ensure consequences are effectively and appropriately used. This is especially relevant given that 80% of teachers initially respond to misbehaviour by using punishment. Alternative strategies, which are proactive and positive, will be presented to facilitate teachers in the refining and enhancing of their individual behaviour management plans. Classroom-based scenarios will be applied to these research-validated practices. |
