Program details:

Would you like to know more about how to implement music, media, art, dance and drama into the primary curriculum? Then these 4 workshops are for you!
On completion of the four ArtsMMADD workshops participants should be able to:
• Directly link learning experiences to learning outcomes, features of quality teaching and student engagement;
• Demonstrate understandings of assessment and children’s learning within the Creative Arts K-6 key learning area;
• Develop familiarity with an array of resources designed to meet the needs of diverse K-6 students in the Creative Arts K-6;
• Demonstrate uses of information and communication technologies to implement learning experiences in the Creative Arts K-6 classroom.
The four workshops will present participants with practical, hands on experiences in planning, teaching and evaluating syllabus-based arts education in the primary classroom.

Each workshop will build on the previous one so it is strongly recommended that participants attend all four workshops. The workshops will also introduce participants to the support networks and resources available at www.artsmmadd.com.
Workshop 1: Introduction to the four Creative Arts areas
- the discrete art forms as well as showing authentic ways of integrating them across other curriculum areas.
Workshop 2-4 Meeting the needs of the group.
These workshops will respond to participants’ needs and requested themes on teaching the arts in the primary classroom.

Participants will be able to use the 8 hours of workshops towards their professional development hours.
