If you are a UWS staff member, please go to the staff Disability Service webpage. (opens in a new window) |
The Disability Service is a team of professional Disability Advisors and trained educational support staff. We support and assist future and current students with disabilities and chronic health conditions. Our service is available to all UWS students.
We will assess the impact of your disability or chronic health condition and develop an Academic Integration Plan to provide reasonable adjustments that you need to address the effects of your disability. Reasonable adjustments are any steps taken to make sure that all students have equal access to university. This is done in line with the Disability Discrimination Act (as amended 2009) and the Disability Standards for Education (2005).
Register with the Disability Service by phoning (02) 9852 5199 or email disability@uws.edu.au and make an appointment. The closing date to regsiter for assistance is 30 April 2012. Act now!
To register, call (02) 9852 5199 and make an appointment. You'll need to bring all medical or educational documents that confirm your condition. These documents can't be more than two years old. If you can't bring your documents to your appointment, you can arrange to supply them at another time.
The information you give us is confidential. We won't tell anyone about the nature of your condition without your written consent.
If you're not sure that you need assistance or are worried about disclosing your condition, you don't have to make a decision right away. You can just have a chat with a disability advisor and ask some questions. They can answer any questions about the sort of help we can provide.
