If you were unable to attend a final exam due to a serious illness, misadventure or other exceptional circumstance beyond your control then you are eligible to apply for a deferred exam.
A Deferred Examination Application form must be lodged at a Student Central no later than 5.00pm on the 2nd working day after your scheduled exam. Your application will be assessed against the Special Consideration policy.
We will monitor the number of deferred exams you sit during the course of your degree. Sitting deferred exams more than four times during your enrolment may result in you being reported to your Head of School. The Head of School may then take action to determine why you repeatedly fail to sit your exams in the main exam period.
It is important to note that completing a deferred exam may delay your eligibility to graduate.
Access to a deferred exam is a privilege and not an automatic right.
Deferred exams are held on Parramatta campus only.
The deferred exam timetable will be published in Platform Web no later than three days prior to the deferred exam period.
If your application for a deferred exam is successful, we will send an email to your UWS student email account with further information including your deferred exam dates.
Please note: we are unable to provide verbal exam timetable advice via phone or at Student Central.
In such circumstances, you may submit a Final Deferred Examination Special Consideration Application form and documentation to a Student Central no later than 5.00pm on the 2nd working day after the missed deferred examination. These applications will be assessed by your school.
For further information regarding exams, you are encouraged to read the Examinations policy.
