You will need to check each of your unit’s opening times in Platform Web carefully as two units in the same School may have different opening times due to their unit level.
Make sure you complete your unit enrolment in MySR at least two hours before Tutorial Registration opens as it takes approximately two hours for Platform Web to be updated with new information.
Tutorial Registration lab support is available, see the Tutorial Registration help page for more information
Tutorial Registration is how you put together your timetable at UWS. For each unit you are studying, we will give you a list of class times that are available and you can register into the one you want to attend using Platform Web. As there are only limited places in each class Tutorial Registration works on a first in, first served basis.
You'll need to make sure you are enrolled in all of your units in MySR or you won't be able to register for your tutorials.
Most units have different types of classes that you will need to attend each week. These may include practicals, seminars and workshops, as well as tutorials. In online Tutorial Registration, the term 'tutorial' refers to all of these classes. For example, you may also need to use online Tutorial Registration to register your attendance in lectures, practicals or workshops.
Tutorials are small groups of about 25 students and are about one or two hours in duration. They provide a forum to discuss and debate the lecture materials and have an emphasis on student-teacher interaction and class participation.
Most tutorials have compulsory attendance requirements. If you miss more than two tutorials in a teaching session, you may be at risk of failing the requirements of that unit. Check the unit outline for each of your units to see their attendance requirements.
To get to online Tutorial Registration you will need to log into the MyUWS Student Portal using your MyUWSAccount username (your student ID number) and password. Then click on Platform Web in the left hand side menu.
Autumn session Tutorial Registration will open progressively from Tuesday 14 Feb 2012 – Friday 17 Feb 2012. You can see the opening times for your units in online Tutorial Registration from the middle of Jan 2012.
Check the opening times carefully as two units in the same School may have different opening times if they have different unit levels.
A full schedule of opening times for all schools and levels is available on the Tutorial Registration help page.
When Tutorial Registration opens for your School, you'll need to log in to Platform Web through MyUWS and select a class time out of the options available.
What do I need to complete Tutorial Registration?
Most students will need to register for some or all of their enrolled units each session. If you’re not sure if you should register for your classes, read the notes at the top of the timetable page for each of your units.
Groups that will definitely not need to register for classes using online Tutorial Registration are:
You can change your tutorial selection through Platform Web up to five times by simply clicking on another selection. If you have extenuating circumstances that requires you to register for a tutorial that is already full, then you will need to complete the Request to Change Tutorial form and submit it to your School.
Tutorial Registration lab support will be available in labs during Tutorial Registration week.
The Tutorial Registration Hotline (02) 9852 5471 will be open during the Tutorial Registration period.
If you have any questions about your enrolment, call the Student Central Infoline on 1300 668 370.
