Putting Humanities to Work in a Chaotic World

Putting Humanities to Work in a Chaotic World: Dynamic Interdisciplinarity and Community Engagement

This project will develop the theory and practice of Mode 2 Knowledge (transdisciplinary, working with multiple partners, problem-oriented) in the humanities and social sciences. It will use chaos theory as catalyst, to introduce fresh perspectives into humanities research. It will develop stronger interdisciplinarity between humanities and social sciences, and with science-based disciplines. It will facilitate humanities collaborations with government, industry and community, building a more flexible tool kit of methods and ideas, fostering strategies and attitudes of collaboration. It will develop these ideas collaboratively, working with issues and problems from the local community.
