Dr Wayne Peake is the Research Program Coordinator for CCR. From 2002 until February 2007, he was the Research and Records Management Coordinator for the Institute for International Studies, University of Technology Sydney. He was research librarian specialising in sport for the Sydney Olympic Games Organising Committee, and an editor and writer for the Games’ Official Report.
Dr Peake’s primary research interest is the social history of Australian horse racing. Others include the marketing and internationalisation of thoroughbred and harness racing, the history of radio, film and television coverage of horse racing, Olympic Games history, and the history of the Australian press, in particular regarding its treatment of sport.
