The CCR is strongly committed to developing research collaborations and partnerships with government, industry and the community sector. Many of our projects are collaborative partnerships, which deliver quality research for strategic planning and practical outcomes that help understand and resolve the social and cultural challenges impacting on organisations, communities and individuals in a diverse and complex world.
CCR also has a number of formal scholarly exchange programs with overseas institutions.
The CCR has an Academic Cooperation Agreement with the Advanced Cultural Studies Institute of Sweden (ACSIS) at Linkoping University (Norrkoping campus). Under the terms of the agreement CCR postgraduate students are able to visit Sweden and work at ACSIS, and ACSIS students are able to visit Australia and work at the CCR.
The Centre for Cultural Research has had an ongoing relationship with the Department of Cultural Studies at Lingnan University, Hong Kong, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding 'to enhance international collaboration in research development between the two institutions'. This relationship was renewed in 2007 and builds on the collaborations that have existed since 2002, when the first delegation of staff and graduate students from Lingnan, including internationally renowned cultural theorist Professor Meaghan Morris (now a member of CCR), attended a workshop.
Professor Morris presented a seminar to the inaugural workshop, 'From Criticism to Research: Textual Work in the New Academy' (PDF, 81Kb) and an electronic publication on the outcomes of the workshop (including Meaghan Morris' keynote speech) were produced, Comparative Cultural Research: Hong Kong/Western Sydney Exchanges (PDF, 583Kb).
