Environmental management

UWS has a clear obligation to plan and implement actions for a more sustainable future, and a clear role in leadership in the future sustainability of Greater Western Sydney. To meet this commitment in a comprehensive, organised manner, UWS has an Environmental Management System, which is underpinned by the UWS Environmental Management Policy and supported by the Environmental Management Plan and the Greening UWS Action Plan – Interim.

CW&F’s Environment and Risk Management business unit supports UWS in achieving its sustainability goals and is committed to reducing the University’s ecological footprint on both a local and global basis. We are currently implementing a suite of sustainability projects across all campuses.Rainwater tank being installed as part of a major refurbishment of building L9 on Hawkesbury campus

CW&F uses best practices in the design and construction of capital works projects to reduce energy use and the environmental impact of UWS buildings, whilst providing exceptional quality for the University’s students, staff and visitors. Our architects, engineers and project managers investigate new technologies such as rainwater re-use systems and other sustainable building systems to integrate this new thinking into CW&F’s new building and renovation projects.
