
Capital Works and Facilities, a part of the Division of Development and International of the University of Western Sydney, contributes to academic excellence at UWS through innovative and integrated facilities management.
Capital Works and Facilities is responsible for providing a significant amount of support to the university - from mail and courier services to parking and grounds management; from security to repairs and maintenance; from planning the use of space to managing construction and refurbishment of buildings; from logistics to recycling and waste management - and these are just some of the areas where you'll find us working.
Capital Works and Facilities has six main functional areas:
Currently, Capital Works and Facilities is focusing on optimising the use of existing facilities through more efficient space utilisation, the upgrading of existing facilities so that they meet contemporary standards, improving safety and security at our university through the upgrading of essential safety services and the implementation of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design strategies. Furthermore, CW&F is improving the physical spaces through landscaping, waste reduction and recycling strategies, the construction of communal facilities and, improved signage and lighting.
Capital Works and Facilities headquarters are at Penrith Campus. In the office of the Director are the senior managers who provide planning, capital works, security, logistics, grounds and environment, administrative leadership with assistance from their central support team. CW&F staff are located on each university campus, and all contribute, often invisibly, to making our campuses safe and attractive places for learning.
