About Research in Business

The College of Business is committed to conducting leading edge research resulting in the creation of new knowledge that enriches our teaching, fosters social and economic outcomes, and has relevance and importance locally, nationally and internationally.  The College provides a stimulating and vibrant research culture that fosters collaborative research with a strong focus on research education and training for our research candidates.  We collaborate with industry, government, community groups and other universities to produce high quality applied research that generates economic, environmental and social benefits for industry and other stakeholders. Academic staff members in the college publish regularly in scholarly and professional journals and produce monographs and books.  Research areas in the College are varied and interdisciplinary: topics include corporate social responsibility, environmental and social sustainability, property investment, development economics, family law, human rights, public international law, international marketing, health care management and employment relations.  The College has several research groups involved in multidisciplinary research projects in collaboration with industry, community groups and other universities.  The College of Business also hosts a research centre, the Centre for Industry and Innovation Studies (CInIS).

Research Nodes

The University of Western Sydney's research goal is to achieve outstanding performance in research and scholarship that is distinguished by its interdisciplinary focus and relevance to industry, government and the community.

The College of Business supports this goal through its research nodes that are engaged in conducting research leading to the creation of new knowledge that enriches our teaching, fosters social and economic outcomes, and has relevance and importance locally, nationally and internationally. 

Research nodes reflect the development and consolidation of groupings of researchers who share a research focus and can demonstrate their research competitiveness. The College of Business currently has three nodes:
