This year’s Open Day on Saturday 29 August has been declared the “best ever” by UWS Vice-Chancellor Professor Janice Reid AM, with close to a record attendance at the UWS Parramatta campus.
The event provided an opportunity for prospective students and their families to find out more about courses, admissions, the university’s world-class research, cutting-edge teaching facilities and equipment. Attendees were able to speak with one-on-one with staff and current students to get advice and insights on what it is like to be part of the UWS community, and how the university can help them to achieve their professional and personal goals.
"The campus looked marvellous and it was a wonderful to see how visitors responded to the imaginatively designed and refurbished social spaces, the new buildings and the Female Orphan School and flowed through the information booths and rooms talking with staff and students,” Professor Reid said.
“Everywhere staff members were deep in conversation with enquiring students and families explaining our courses, answering all manner of questions, and providing practical information or guiding arrivals. Even with such large crowds the sense of the extended UWS ‘family’ was palpable, and the enthusiasm heartfelt.”
